For love of a store
Composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda has joined forces with three collaborators of the Broadway hit show "Hamilton" to purchase the Drama Book Shop. The century-old book store, which sells scripts, sheet music and other stage-related reading material, is renowned in the New York City theater community and won a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre. But, it was struggling to stay solvent due to Manhattan's soaring rents. Now, it's been saved and will reopen in the fall.

Footprints in the snow
While on a hike in New Hampshire's White Mountains, Pam Bales spotted a set of footprints in the snow. Based on the direction and treads, she could tell the person who made them was in trouble. Instead of continuing her journey, she decided to make a detour -- and ended up saving a man's life.
