Lost, but having a ball
Someone recently left a pretty, red-haired doll in Eldorado Canyon State Park.
According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the lost doll was discovered at Supremacy Rock on Jan. 4. While she waits for her owner to return, the doll did some rock-climbing with the park’s rangers, hung out with the trails and maintenance team and even greeted guests at the entrance station.
“We’re all hoping for a happy reunion and it’s time for her to get home," CPW spokeswoman Kara Van Hoose told The Denver Post.
The doll is adorned in a floral dress and turquoise booties. If the doll is yours, call (303) 494-3943.

Kobe averts a catastrophe
Then, Kobe dug a second hole and began sniffing the air. That made Bell curious. Especially since a few weeks earlier, there was a gas leak in her house. After it was repaired, she picked up a handheld gas detection device, in case there were any further issues. On a lark, Bell placed the device over Kobe's new hole and was surprised to discover that her dog had located a major gas leak.
Thankfully, Philadelphia Gas Works employees were able to plug the leak before any damage could be done.
"We were told it could've caused serious health effects like respiratory issues, brain damage and even death,” Bell told USA Today. "They told me that something as simple as a light switch turning on could've caused an explosion, too."
Now Kobe is not just the hero of the neighborhood, he's also the subject of Bell's new children's book, "The Dog That Saved The Block Before Christmas."

A case for kindness
I learned about this film from an obituary about one of its producers. Based on the topic, I knew I already wanted to see this documentary. But now, I also plan to do so in honor of Isabelle Lawrence Thomas. Rest in peace.
